I'm temporarily halting my tablet use. It feels that I'm hurting my skills, so I'm going to start coloring with markers. Maybe I'll find a painting technique that I can imitate when I get back to tablet work.

The image on the left is of Ophiuchus, drawn for a weekly activity at the
WIP Podcast forums, which focused on zodiac signs. This piece was the beginning of drawing traditionally. I felt that the scratch markings all around the image was too boring, so I went over on GIMP and added a background texture, plus a gradient to frame the figure (I may not be painting, but I might as well use some technology for my benefit. What is not seen in the image is the sketch that was drawn using a red charcoal pencil. That was also removed using GIMP, leaving only lines that I wanted (from the pencil outline). I forgot how charcoal is very messy :P.

On the right were some concepts for the theme of music for the same forums. The idea of insects and musical instruments seem to fit very well. So I made beetles that represent a guitar, and a lyre (misspelled as lye :\).
And finally, a sneak peak at a fictional city that I am working on for my future webcomic. I barely added some buildings for the central part of the city. I wanted to give a variety of sizes and orientation, I'll possibly added different shapes to other buildings as well, since all of them are box looking. The city has a scale of three to four miles in diameter. Forming a city from the ground up is hard!

I hope to come back using the tablet with a more knowledgeable approach at drawing and painting. And possibly have a greater understanding in what style I want to incorporate on my webcomic.
